In order to make the living space aesthetically pleasing, we usually opt for in-wall installation of water pipes during renovation. However, if water pipes leak or burst, it will bring about irrevocable consequences. Perhaps some consumers have already suffered from such annoying "injuries".
The economic function of water pipes is a long-term consideration, so it is necessary to think comprehensively. First of all, there is the cost of purchase. Secondly, there is the cost of maintenance in daily use. Since the service life is long, it is recommended that when purchasing water pipes, we must choose high-quality products. Although the purchase may be a bit more expensive, the maintenance cost in the future can be greatly reduced.
The causes of such problems may come from the following aspects: First, the plastic pipes used are not qualified products. There are some inferior products in the market that are poorly made and cut corners. For example, their pressure resistance and thermal expansion coefficients do not meet the requirements. Coupled with non-standard construction, there will definitely be problems in the project.
Second, the physical and chemical properties of plastic pipes themselves determine this. Because plastic pipes are connected to metal at bends with special glue, not by welding or screwing tightly. In cases of large temperature differences, such as sudden cooling, the different thermal expansion coefficients of plastic and metal can easily cause the glue to crack, leading to pipe bursting.
Third, there is the aging problem of plastic pipes. Since plastic contains "plasticizers", they will gradually evaporate over time, causing the plastic to harden and become brittle. Sunlight can also cause plastic to age, and ozone in the air is harmful to plastic. Aged plastic pipes are prone to bursting under the impact of water pressure fluctuations and water hammer effects.
In the past, the main pipes used for water supply were cast iron pipes. For outdoor use, sand-cast iron pipes were mainly used, while for indoor use, galvanized cast iron pipes were used, which can be divided into cold (electric) galvanizing and hot galvanizing. After using galvanized pipes as water pipes for several years, a lot of rust and dirt will form inside the pipes. The yellow water that flows out not only pollutes sanitary ware, but also carries bacteria that breed on the rough inner walls. The rusting causes the content of heavy metals in the water to be too high, which seriously endangers human health.
Each type has different characteristics. Which one to use in decoration depends on a comprehensive consideration of the specific situation.
